Just to keep everyone updated on the CrawSat III Progress, we conducted a a battery test, to see how much power is consumed by the electronics of the payload.

Test began with 9.12 volts of power, and after a four hour run was reduced to 7.51 volts. This test was also conducted with the siren going for the last half hour of the test, which are the anticipated parameters of the launch day. Given this test, it is safe to say our power system can fly for the four predicted hours, and still have ample power to run the siren after landing for recovery teams to locate it.

Also speaking of Launch Day….Our predictions for landing the balloon today aren’t that hot…landing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Red Blip is the predicted location.

Until next time!
