Marsha Siles from The Advocate News Paper based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana ran two articles this morning about our recent acceptance as a Candidate for the NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative, and another on our educational outreach with NP Moss Middle School’s pearlsat payload during our recent flight of CrawSat III. This past Thursday, Nick and I went to NP Moss Middle School to deliver the pearlsats from the CrawSat III launch to the students. We were met by Mrs. Patti Garbarino and a few of her students. The next step now is for the students at NP Moss to do a Post Flight Brief and prepare for their second Webinar with Bob Twiggs from Morehead State University to explain to him their findings.

Well the end has finally come for CrawSat III. This past weekend, on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 the CrawSat III High Altitude Weather Balloon Project was successfully launched out of Lake Charles, Louisiana around 12:20 PM, and landed in the Homochitto National Forest in the state of Mississippi nearly three hours later, where it was found stuck in a tree. Through help from a local citizen of the area, the Recovery Teams were able to successfully retrieve the package with very little damage.
