CAPE-2: Testing Deployable Panels

Quick test video of how our deployable solar panels will function. We wrapped fishing string around the structure of the satellite, and burned through it with a current of nichrome from the power supply shown in video. End result solar panels deploying! Totally awesome progress! ![]()
CAPE-2 Mechanical Presentation at Calpoly 2010

While checking out some of the videos from the 2010 Cubesat Workshop, I stumbled across a full video of our Lead Mechanical Engineer, Abhishek Bajpayee’s presentation to the Cubesat community on our plans for solar deployable panels and the mechanical challenges of our project. I’d like to congratulate Abhishek on a job well done!
